Bachata steps. Basic steps and elements in bachata. Remember the basic bachata step

– beautiful and sensual couples dance, which appeared in the distant Dominican Republic. Only in a hot country of snow-white sand, azure sea and paradise landscapes could an equally hot and passionate dance. Bachata is smoothness of movements, flexibility and plasticity of bodies, hugs and a romantic mood. If you look at a couple performing this dance, you get a feeling of complete unity and harmony between the partners, as if they are driven by one common wave of mesmerizing music. Today bachata takes over everything larger number fans, and the main role in this trend is played by the simplicity of the movements performed, however, this is an erroneous assumption that may arise during the first visual acquaintance with the dance technique.

Bachata - how to dance correctly?

Bachata lessons should be taught in pairs with a dance partner, and such emotional contact should be established between the partners, thanks to which the dance will be performed lively and organically. It is very important for dancers to open up and make contact with their partner, and if for people with a South American temperament this is quite natural, for reserved Europeans it is very difficult. Despite its apparent simplicity, bachata is a whole complex of complex movements that should look natural. And for this, lesson after lesson, you should hone your technique: what is most important here is the synchronization of the partners and the correct movement of each part of the body. During the classes, dancers will have to master many wave-like movements and backbends, and this requires hours of training.

A few rules for beginners

Those who are captivated by this extraordinary dance, which combines the contradictions of passion, tenderness and unpredictability, should definitely learn bachata. They will be helped dance classes with experienced trainers who will explain dance techniques in practice. But not always and not everyone has the opportunity to visit dance school, and basic skills will never become superfluous. Here are some of the main and most important rules bachata.

  • Firstly, the leader in a couple is the man, and the woman is the follower. As if obeying her partner, she obediently follows him, and each new step certainly accompanied by a smooth rotation of the hips.
  • Secondly, bachata lessons require good stretching, especially of some of the hip and lumbar muscles. However, this is not stretching in its classical sense, when the main goal is to bend the body at a maximum angle. The plasticity of the muscles is important here, due to which rotation of the hips will seem to give a wave throughout the body. For pre-workout in the best possible way Simple bends and circular rotations of the torso are suitable.
  • Thirdly, the main element of the dance is the “kick”, without which bachata is unthinkable. This is a smooth rotational movement that women should perform with their hips, and men with their entire body. Anyone who has managed to comprehend this element of dance can be said to have comprehended the very essence of bachata.
  • Finally, each step in the dance consists of 3 small steps, which should be performed at ease, maintaining visual lightness and playfulness of movements.

And most importantly: in order to master bachata, it is not enough just to learn the basic movements and ligaments. It is important here to be able to improvise, because bachata is improvisation, full of passion and emotions, like the South American character.

A bright, dynamic and sensual dance - bachata, appeared at the beginning of the twentieth century, but is only experiencing the peak of its popularity now. The birthplace of the lyrical, but fiery dance– Dominican Republic, and characteristic features he acquired in the Caribbean. This musical style has gained recognition all over the world, largely thanks to performers who come from Latin America.

History of Bachata Dance

It is known that the dance originated in the thirties of the twentieth century, and a little later bachata became the folk way get away from problems, relax, become happier. In the 60s, the Dominican Republic experienced difficult times- the republic was in a state of cold war with Washington due to thriving corruption and obvious election fraud. The people had a hard time while politicians fought for power. Bachata was danced to lift the mood in bars, on the streets, and on the path near the house. The dance came from the “lower classes” and was considered vulgar - its performance was not encouraged in social events.

Singers and composers from the Dominican Republic, who achieved world fame, played a major role in the popularization and development of the style. One of them, Juan Luis Guerra, released the album Bachata rosa, which received recognition high society Dominican Republic, which opened the path to world recognition for the sensual musical style. Compositions from the album were played on radio and television, and played at weddings and parties. By the end of the century, bachata began to win the hearts of fans of Latin American music around the world. It is danced at salsothecas, clubs, and discos dedicated to the Dominican theme.

Features

Bachata is an original, memorable, but not complicated dance. It is performed at a moderate, even melancholic tempo, and the rhythmic pattern is 4/4. The completed beat is three steps, and on the count of “four” there is a movement of the hip and a step with a straightened leg. The dance is characterized by the closeness of partners on the verge of eroticism and passion, as well as measured, sensual music. The dance is concentrated in smooth body movements, swaying the hips and moving with springy legs. At the same time, the partners’ hands perform simple movements, complementing the overall design of the composition.

What is the difference between salsa and bachata?

Bachata is very similar to salsa - both dances are built on a 4/4 time signature, great value is given smooth movements hips At the same time, salsa has many varieties; in some dance styles, the first step is performed on the strong beat, in others - on the weak beat. There are lyrical and incendiary compositions. Salsa can be danced alone, in pairs, in threes or in fours.

Bachata is less varied, it is gentle, it expresses sensuality and frankness. This is an erotic dance, it symbolizes passion, it is danced in couples. Salsa is more energetic, its music is more complex, and there are a variety of figures. It will take time to learn how to dance it. Professionals advise starting with bachata, and then starting to master salsa. Almost all salseros and lovers Latin American dances can dance both dances.

Music

Bachata is a characteristic musical style that talks about unrequited love and the difficulties that lovers experience on the way to their happiness. The music is a mixture of two directions - Cuban son and spanish dance bolero. At the same time, bachata does not have the rhythm inherent in many areas of Afro-Cuban styles, but there is a constant melody - addictive, sexy. The main core of the melody is a sad melancholic motif, with notes of nostalgia and longing for lost love.

The key tool is the usual acoustic guitar, its picking is combined with requinto. This instrument is a close relative of the guitar, but the sounds produced from it have a metallic timbre and are reminiscent of African motifs. The rhythm is set by Cuban double drums, which the musician holds with his feet. In combination with percussion instruments maracas or guinos perform, brightening up the monotonous melody and giving it an expressive sensual coloring.

In the 90s, the style of music began to change, thanks to its popularizers. Manuel Tejada decorated the arrangements of his songs with the sound of a synthesizer and accordion, and Anthony Santos changed the rhythm of the music and sped it up due to tempo variations. Bachata Cabaret and techno suggest the presence of rhyme in the words of songs that have a double meaning, balancing on the verge of eroticism and vulgarity.

Styles

Bachata dance does not have a wide variety of styles, but three main ones can be distinguished. Among them are the following areas:

  • Dominican variety or classic version. This style of bachata dance is traditional for the islands, it is romantic and soulful, but has not received widespread in the world. The center of attention is the movement of the dancers' legs, complex figures that are performed with the participation of the hips and waist.
  • Urban or European bachata is a popular type of dance. The main emphasis is on the work of the core and the movement of the partner’s hips. Suitable for beginners - the dance consists of simple steps and minimum complex figures.
  • Modern. The style is modern, interspersed with hip-hop and other specific movements of popular dances. This is the club genre of bachata - it is dynamic, fiery, and still evolving.

How to dance bachata

This dance is designed to work in pairs, but basic movements study one by one. Key elements of bachata:

  • Basic step. Bend your right knee, shift your body weight to the left. Take a step to the right, shift your weight to the same side, plant your left foot, repeat. Perform all movements on the count of “one, two, three, four.” Take two steps in the other direction.
  • Back and forth. The left leg is motionless, the right one needs to take a step forward, put the foot down, then take a step back and put it down again. Accompany the steps with movements of the hips, transferring the body weight from the right leg to the left, and vice versa.
  • Turn. Stand straight, looking ahead. On the count of “one,” you need to take a step to the side with your right foot, while simultaneously turning your body to the right. On the count of two, turn 90° on your right foot, placing your left foot shoulder-width apart. Raise your left thigh and place your foot on your toes. Continue to describe the circle with your body, turning on your left leg. Return to the starting position, ending with an emphasis by lifting your right hip and bending your knee. Repeat on the other side.
  • Move forward with figure eight hips. Take a step forward, transfer your body weight to your right hip, plant your left leg, bending both knees. Simultaneously with the step, load the left hip, then the right again. Try to describe a figure eight with your hips lying in a horizontal plane.
  • Crossing steps. Take a step to the side with your right foot, transferring your body weight to your right thigh. Pull up your left leg, placing it in front of your right so that you form a cross. On the count of “three,” take another step with your right foot to the side, and on the count of “four,” pull up your left foot, bending your knees. Each step involves transferring weight to the hip, relaxing it along the way. On the count of “four,” you need to lift your left thigh up by contracting the lateral muscles of the waist.

During the dance, your arms can be bent at the elbows and your hands held in front of you. Moving your hips, make circular movements with your hands, trying not to focus attention on them. The beginner's task is to learn how to step correctly and move his hips to the beat, catching the lyrical rhythm of bachata. Over time, you can try to connect your hands, but when working as a couple, they are under the partner’s shoulder blades.

How to learn to dance

It is quite possible to master the principles of dance on your own - you can hone your skills by dancing in front of a mirror. It is possible to learn to dance bachata at home at the initial stage. When moving to the next level, when a partner is required, it is better to take courses or pay individual lessons with a coach. There are several dance schools in Moscow where they will teach you how to dance, and the first lesson will be free. These are GallaDance, the Bachata, Spicy Salsa and Keep the Rhythm dance schools. When starting to study, you should take into account the following features of dance:

  • Bachata implies close contact between dancers - physical and emotional. Sometimes the need for intimacy becomes an obstacle to learning dance.
  • Dance requires the dancer to have a sense of rhythm; you need to listen to the music and strive to be in time. This will help achieve synchronization with your partner's movements.
  • In parallel with training on the dance floor, you should develop flexibility - this quality is necessary for high-quality mastery of dance.
  • Home exercises are carried out to music in front of a mirror to see the erroneous execution of movements.
  • To make the dancer feel confident in clothes and shoes, it is advisable to wear a tracksuit and comfortable shoes or sandals with heels.

There are only two fundamental points in the technique: body work and “kick” on the 4th and 8th count. The simplest, most effective, reliable and at the same time the cheapest way to master these elements is to learn them in, where they will tell you everything about the details of how muscles and joints work.

Friends, people regularly come to us with the words “we learned at parties/on the bridge/at master classes in the Tiki bar, we know the whole base, take us to the continuing group.” We don’t mind, we take it, but as a rule, after 5 minutes of class, these people realize that they overestimated their level. Not because it’s so difficult here, but because it’s simply impossible to learn at master classes and during parties: the format is different.

Core work requires moving and stretching the muscles of the back, abs and lower back. If you are not used to working with them, you should start with simple back stretches and bends from side to side, familiar to everyone from school.

In general, there is a shortage physical fitness is perhaps the most common obstacle to the growth of dance skills. And here it is important to understand that for dancing it is not your ability to lift weights, throw balls or run fast that is important, but something completely different: plastic, mobile and stretched muscles, ready to work.

Plasticity is not flexibility!

The difference here is in anatomy. Flexibility is about ligaments and tendons. Plastic surgery is primarily about muscles and working in joints. If you stretch the ligaments in the groin area, you will be able to do the splits. Can you use your feet beautifully and quickly? No. Stretching is necessary for plastic surgery, but a stretched body is not necessarily plastic.

To develop plasticity you will need:

  • "insulation",
  • stretching and

We were lucky to learn from a wonderful master of movement, Alexey Aleksentsev, on the right in the video is his plastic lesson. If you decide to take up dancing seriously, save the video to your computer, watch and review. This is a mandatory and, unfortunately, the only textbook; no one else in Russia knows how to teach this way.

But let's get back to bachata. Here, for a beautiful and complete dance, you do not need to perform miracles of self-control; it will be enough to warm up your body for 15 minutes 3 times a week and then stretch it in the area from the middle of the thigh to the ribs/shoulders.

Everyone knows these trivial exercises from school and is quite capable of doing them at home, so we do not waste valuable lesson time at school on them.

And the second necessary technical element of bachata is the “kick”.

There’s nothing to describe here, it’s just important to remember your gender: girls kick from the hip, boys kick from the body, and don’t mix it up!

  • Availability of the most modern medical equipment;
  • Reasonable pricing policy, fixed cost of services and the absence of any extortions, additional payments and demands for “thank you” in envelopes, which patients of so-called “free” clinics constantly face.

The violin is wonderful musical instrument, which won millions of hearts thanks to its lyrical sound. However, violinists (both beginners and professionals) are well aware that the violin not only has a delicate and fragile sound. It is also a rather intricate instrument in itself, which requires a special approach and care.

First of all, it is worth protecting the violin from direct sunlight to avoid drying out. Under no circumstances should this musical instrument be left under the scorching sun. The same goes for severe frosts: the violin generally does not like significant temperature changes, so you need to try to maintain a favorable temperature regime in the place where the instrument is stored. Remember not to leave the violin near open sources heat: fireplaces, heaters, stoves and so on.

Second, no less important advice: the violinist must constantly monitor the level of humidity in the environment where the violin is stored. This musical instrument does not like either excessive humidity, since it causes the wood to become damp and possibly even mold, or too dry air, because in the latter case, cracks and other damage may appear on the wood - and the instrument will become completely unsuitable for use. Experts recommend maintaining an optimal indoor humidity level of 45-60 percent.

An extremely important responsibility of the violinist is also the regular cleaning of the instrument, which should preferably be cleaned and wiped after each use. Do not neglect this responsibility in order to avoid the appearance of dirt, abrasions and other unpleasant signs of use on the violin body. To avoid this, we suggest using online stores, for example,

However, even if you fully comply with all the basic recommendations for caring for a violin, its owner is not insured against damage to the instrument. Both as a result of natural wear and tear (if the violin was used for a sufficiently long period of time), and as a result of some unforeseen accidents (blows, falls, other mechanical damage).

If such troubles occur, you should not hesitate, but contact a qualified violin maker who can offer an extensive range of instrument repair services - from replacing strings to restoring the varnish coating.
